The CASE Committee
Canterbury Advocates for a Sustainable Enviroment
(CASE)
Chair: Edwina Beard
This long-term committee encourages and promotes stewardship and care for the planetary environment from a faith perspective through:
1. Sponsoring, funding, and overseeing environmental projects at Canterbury, such as the distribution of compact fluorescent light bulbs and replacing church exit signs with electricity-miserly LEDs;
2. Designing and assisting with Earth Day liturgies and advocating for the planet in the Prayers of the People;
3. Providing information, through weekly environmental tips in the bulletin and articles in the parish newsletter, to parishioners on ways to decrease carbon dioxide and other emissions in their homes, at Canterbury, and in the Diocese of the Rio Grande;
4.
Supporting and participating with other environmental groups such
as NM Interfaith Power
and Light; and
5. Encouraging parishioners to advocate for public policies that promote sustainable/renewable energy.

He said to them.... "Come and see." (John, 1:39)
Any prospective or current Canterbury member is welcome on the CASE Committee and at CASE meetings – a good place to learn about, talk about, and do something about global warming. CASE usually meets once a month; see this web site or the Sunday bulletin for meeting times.
No
special talents are needed other than an interest in caring for
the environment.
